It was much too cold at night for Vex's liking, due to the fact he had to wear real clothes when walking outside. Long sleeved baby-blue shirt led down to baggy jeans and casual vans, a drastic change in normal attire. Not that he didn't mind real clothes, he truly did.
He just didn't feel the need to be harassed this time.
Breath came out in little puffs of white air, as changeling leaned on the brick wall of a dark alley. Hands stuffed into his pockets, he waited, those cat-like violet eyes searching the shadows, as ears stood at attention. Waiting was something he dreaded, but it was customary and out of habit.
Mind drifted for a moment, remembering how many times he'd been forced to wait for those of his kind to meet with him. Young-ling, they called him, but Vex didn't mind. He was young, for one of his race.
Vaguely, he hoped it wasn't his mother whom visited him this time.
A sudden click of boots on concrete caught his attention fast, causing him to take a sharp intake of breathe as he caught side of the figure as it walked out side of the shadows. For a moment, he seemed to loose the ability to breathe.
Cloaked in black, the very being radiated with a sense of darkness, an unearthly feeling that seeped into the area surrounding them. Pausing a mere foot from the changeling, long clawed fingers materialized out of Ebony sleeves as they lifted and pulled back the over hanging hood to reveal the creatures face.
Elven like feature would be the first to catch anyone's eyes, the high cheekbones covered with silk like ivory skin, pointed ears and silver hair. A drastic splash of color were those aqua eyes the seemed to peirce threw Vex's very being as the narrowed at him, almost disapprovingly.
For one split second, he wished it had been his mother to meet him this night.
"I see you still wear that form..." The taller figure drawled, seemingly bored as he placed a hand inches above Vex's head and leaned in almost uncomfortably close. "It's pathetic, really."
The changeling's ears shot down as he glared up at the other male, fingers twitching. "And I see you're still an ass." He had little to no patience when it came to being picked on.
"Ah! But you're the one who's stuck with the same little form, or rather, living for someone. Do you really feel that bad for the kid?"
Vex nearly flinched back into the stone wall behind him, visibly pained at the jibe. Images, flashes of blood and tears flew through his mind, echoes of a dead scream from many ears ago caught in his throat. Barely, he managed to swallow the unforgotten fear and pain.
"It's none of your business." With that, he'd attempt to shoulder his away past the male, only to have his arm snatched.
"Now now cousin! It's merely trivial. How long do you think you can maintain this form? Before-" a sudden flash of the male's eyes as power ran up Vex's arm caused the changeling's knees to buckle, "you loose the power to hold it? We weren't meant to hold these people's faces forever, you know."
Vex's blood felt like it was on fire, causing his body to convulse. Silent scream flowed out of his own mouth. Why was he doing this? How was this fair? The colors on his skin and fur began to fade and contort. "Stop this Elye!" Tears started to leak down his face as he bit back the need to cry out in pain at the forced changing.
Elye snorted and threw the arm away from himself as if it burnt him, and how Vex wished it had. "Vex, you're young, you're stupid, and you're going to learn this all the hard way. You need to change, give up the dead child's face. It's not bringing him back, and it won't do you any good. How long do you think you can keep this up?"
Vex could feel his jaw lock as he shot Elye the evilest glare he could manage. "Forcing me to do things won't make Falrin take you back."
It was Elye's turn to stumble, and Vex nearly smirked as he rose to watch the other. "I will maintain this form until the day I die."
Elye sneered, claws extending a fair amount, "with your luck, I hope it kills you."
Vex merely snorted, turning his back to his cousin, "with your luck, it won't."
The other changeling growled, nothing but pure hate in those bright eyes. "You'll be seeing me again... I've been appointed your babysitter while you're here."
Vex turned to look back, however retort died on his lips as he was greeted with an empty alley way.
A sudden sense of dread seeped its way into the changeling's rapidly beating heart at the possibilities.
Turning on his heel as quickly as possible, Vex took off at a full out sprint toward NP, breathe coming much too fast. This was bad. Very very bad. He needed to get home fast. Where he was safe from his deranged cousin.
In the back of his mind, he secretly wished it had been his mother who had visited.
