Teela Necahual had had a lot of time to think recently. With Dem alive, well, as alive as she could be, it gave Teela time to ponder over what had happened. In silence, Teela had slipped inside, sneaking into Dem’s room as only a vampire can sneak. An old leather-bound book had been placed on the table, a journal… Teela’s journal. The book was half as old as she was and within it’s pages, Teela had written her own life history and with it, her experiences as a vampire. Giving it to Dem was a precaution she’d chose to take when she’d first made up her mind to get answers… she wanted to ensure Dem would have as much information as she could give. Teela intended to do the training herself but just in case, she’d thought the journal the best way to ensure Dem would have the answers to her questions; at least as many as Teela could answer. In the passing days since her own first encounter with BOW Teela had been so busy with what was happening to her that she hadn’t had time to be concerned with anything else. Their attack on Dem and the bar, however, had filled Teela with questions and left her with a bitter taste in her mouth. The Dark Lord’s visit and her actions, as well as Teela’s realization that she had probably been the root of it all, had also contributed to that taste. Teela, for the life of her, couldn’t get Dem’s screams out of her mind. A part of Teela really had died with Dem’s demon side that night; the part that had kept the crueler side of her at bay for so long. Teela could remember when that part of her had first developed several hundred years ago. As she headed out the door in search of answers to her questions, the silver feline’s mind drifted back to that time and what had led up to it… The images came flooding back as though she were reliving it:
“Please… please set me free. Please… no more.” A weak, pathetic voice pleaded and begged as its captors opened the tiny cage it was locked within. Release it or kill it, it was all the same to the filthy creature that coward at the back of the cage. But to its captors, the words fell on deaf ears as they used catch poles to hook the tight collar that bound the creature’s neck and dragged it from the cage. The creature was a mess, its naked body slender but covered in whip lashes, burns, cuts, puncture wounds, and a mass of other injuries that couldn’t be identified; even the claws had been torn from its fingertips. The close eye might have realized that, were it clean, the fur of the creature was silver… or had been. Now, it looked to be a dull gray assuming you found a semi-clean spot; everywhere else… a brownish red; dried blood. The female, oh yes, it was female, half crawled half stumbled from the cage. She was almost too weak to walk but she was also too weak to resist. Soft whimpers could be heard coming from her but she didn’t have the strength to waste on pleading that would go unheard. Her captors dragged her into the back rooms again and the creature was bound by wrists to chains that dangled from the ceiling. A thick board was placed beneath her feet, strapped to her ankles only moments before thick spikes were driven up through the board and with it… her feet. The creature screamed a deathly scream, the sound filling the ears of her captors and bringing smiles to their faces. Those screams stopped only when the female was too tired to scream anymore and then the beating began. A multitude of whips cut into her body and with each biting lash, flesh was cut away, sometimes deeply enough to reveal bone. How long it went on, the creature couldn’t have said but the floor ran red with her blood and there wasn’t a clean spot anywhere within six feet of her in any direction. True, the blood had been smeared by the feet of her captors as they moved around her, taking turns leaving fresh lashes all over her body, but it was still a lot of blood given how weak she already was. There was scarcely a place on her naked body that wasn’t raw before the beating stopped and then it only ended because she’d drifted into unconsciousness. It was later, much later when the creature awoke. Her body hurt. Where she contacted the floor of the cage it burned. Oh yes, she was back in the cage again; she’d long since lost track of how long the torture had gone on… hours, days, weeks. With a groan, the creature shifted and tried to rise. Pain sent her back to the floor. ‘They’ll be coming soon.’ She told herself. It had become a routine; they would beat her to what should’ve been her death, and then feed her just enough to keep her alive and weak. A whimper slipping past her lips as she tried again. Finally, she managed to move a little and reposition herself before collapsing once more and laying in wait. A little more time passed and the sound of steps and chains brought her back to the pain of the world. She didn’t dare open her eyes as the cage was rattled. Patience… just wait. The door was unlatched and the creature used strength she didn’t know she had. Her tattered body was thrown against the cage door, knocking the guard backwards. Panic, adrenaline, and a desperate need to escape drove her and lended her strength when she’d thought she had none to give. The guard had brought with him an offering and the creature grabbed it up, half dragging it though it walked almost willingly with her as she raced in a hobbling gate for the door. The rest of her escape was a blur and when next she knew, she and the ‘offering’ were bursting through the door. Irrational and frantic, there was no thought about what she would do if the sun were out and it was lucky for her that it wasn’t. The creature, offering in tow, raced away to the hills, caves serving as their hiding spot. Whether they were tailed or not, the creature never knew nor did she care. When they arrived at the cave, the creature shoved the offering inside. She would need it if she were to survive; the feline male would serve as a reasonable meal to replenish the blood she’d lost. She threw him to the ground and was upon him the instant he’d landed. Only one thing saved the male from being ravished and drained entirely of blood. A voice… a familiar voice, as though from some distant, long forgotten dream; no, not forgotten… not entirely. “Teela?”
Teela Necahual was only vaguely aware of how far she’d traveled. Her mind was still drifting through her memories… her past. The male had been a friend to her quite some time before she’d been turned and since then she had lost contact. None could imagine the shock that had come that day when fate had brought them together once more. It was through his care that Teela recovered and for a few years after that, she had lived with him as lover and companion. Many times she had offered him eternity, offered him an immortal life with her at his side. He had refused with talk of having business that needed daytime tending though he was happy to stay with her for his life time. Teela had to accept that. His lifetime, however, was far too short and Teela’s mind walked that path once more:
The sun was just setting as Teela awoke, hidden away in her sleeping chamber. The chamber was impenetrable to sunlight and hard if not impossible to access by any but those who knew exactly how. Carson, her companion and lover, was no where to be found but that was no surprise. Teela often awakened to find him gone and why shouldn’t he be? After all, he didn’t have to avoid the sunlight and he had business to attend to. Teela opened the door to her chamber and immediately knew that something was wrong. The scent of blood in the room outside was overpowering. Instantly Teela was on alert, ears perked and striking blue eyes scanning the room. Claws slid from her fingertips as she took her first few steps out and her eyes came to rest on the body on the floor. Though still breathing, the servant male was slowly slipping away and Teela tried to speak with him. “What happened?? Who did this?” she had asked, desperate to get answers. At first she thought it too late… then the weak rasping voice spoke, “Mistress… they came… Carson… dieing.” The words were his last before the death rattle silenced him. Teela didn’t need to know more, her old enemies had come… that was what the male had meant. Frantic, Teela raced into the sitting room, then up the stairs. The scene she walked into was something out of a nightmare. Blood and bodies were strewn across the room, littering the furniture; most were their servants… Clearly the attack had been unexpected. “Out… side…” a voice said but Teela wasn’t sure from where it came. Without a second thought, she hit the door running and froze in horror. There, nailed to a cross like some sort of message to her, was Carson. His body had been stripped naked and was covered in tiny crosses that were carved into his hide. Hands and feet were nailed to the cross with cruel spikes and a stake had been drive partially through his heart. By some miracle, he was still alive though only just. Teela’s breath caught in her throat as she tried to get him down. It took her longer than she wanted it to and truth be told she, later, couldn’t remember actually getting him down. The moment he was free, Teela was sitting on the ground with Carson cradled in her lap and blood tinged tears streaked her face. “No… Please! Don’t leave me.” She begged even as she was tearing open her own veins. Her wrist was shoved to his mouth as she tried to force her blood down his throat but it was too late. She knew almost as soon as she’d tried it that it was too late. Carson died in her arms, his blood spilling out over her lap, covering her arms, chest, legs and face. Teela’s screams could be heard echoing around the grounds, her cries of grief mixed with those of anger. Alone… once again she was alone. If only she hadn’t been asleep… if only he had accepted her offer… if only he hadn’t been with her. Teela’s mind raged at the thoughts that ran through it even as she rocked with the now lifeless body of her companion… her friend. This was her fault. They had been looking for her; hunting her. It was all because of her and had Carson never met her, he would still be alive… they all would. That had been the breaking point. Teela had buried her lover as well as their servants and the thought had crossed her mind to burn the whole damn place. She couldn’t. It was the only thing she had left… the only thing she had left of him. Carson had left her all of his possessions; his business, his fortune but the only thing she had ever wanted was him. Rage had filled Teela to the breaking point and it bore within her a furry unlike anything she had ever known. She set out in search of her enemies with a serious blood lust but it wasn’t her thirst that was driving her. Over the next two years, Teela had tracked down many of them, seducing them one at a time and locking them up in the dungeon of her home. More often than not she would have four or five locked up at once before her torture of them began. Her methods were cruel, even sadistic; from strapping them to chairs with spikes on the seats and piling them with weights so they would impale themselves to stripping flesh from their still living bodies to making use of hot coals; her ideas seemed to be endless. Teela ensured that the screams of her victims could be heard by those who were still waiting; yet another form of torture though the screams were more psychological. Each eventually met the same fate… death.
So many thoughts, so many memories as Teela headed towards the building. To her, the past and present situations seemed quite similar. Each time it had begun with her. Each time she had cared for someone… and each time, they had been hurt by those who’s first dealings had been with her. It had taken some pulling of strings to find the place so quickly and as she approached, Teela kept to the shadows. From a hill just behind the place, Teela watched for a time. So many thoughts ran through her mind and it took her a moment to clear it enough to set the hunter in her free. She would need all the instincts, cunning, and stealth she possessed to get inside without notice. A thought crossed her mind and Teela’s gaze slipped to the tree beside her. Oblaid had said her body would draw energy from anything… Teela laid her hand against the tree. Eyes closed as she concentrated and soon, she could feel the energy from the tree soaking into her hand. When her eyes opened once more, she was surprised to find the tree withered and near death. So Oblaid had been right, the absorbing of energy could very well be deadly. It was nice to know. For a while, Teela staked out the place, slipping from one place to another; inspecting the parameter of the building as well as the happenings. It seemed that the back had a door as well though it was seldom used. The front was a little more active but not so much at this time of night. It was growing darker when Teela finally moved forwards, easily moving two of the fuel-filled barrels that lined the building’s wall and placing them in front of the back door, blocking it from being opened. One of the barrels was opened then, some of the fuel spilled out on the ground and leading to the side where more barrels sat. The half empty barrel was then placed with the first at the back door. That done, Teela moved to the front, watching, listening and waiting. It took her a while to find a way in and get the timing right. Before entering, Teela found where the power came into the building and made short work of destroying the powerlines. A half open window served as her welcome card and once she was sure no one was near, Teela dashed for the wall and scaled it effortlessly. She was inside and dropped to the floor without making a sound. Her movements from then on were dictated by her surroundings. Teela had used the local vegetation to hide her scent before entering and that, for the time would play well enough. She crept about the halls as only a vampire can, with shadows as her hiding spot and a stealth that death itself would have a hard time matching. It was sound that Teela used to find a room holding only one person and she made her way to that room. Teela opened the door a crack and slipped inside, the darkness used as her cover. It had only been a couple of minutes since she’d wiped the power out but she was sure they would have a backup generator somewhere. By the time the person inside the room actually realized she was there, Teela would be sitting atop the counter just beside the now closed door. Her body was clad in her black leather, it was skin tight and seemed as though she’d been poured into it. The skirt reached just above mid-thigh, her legs crossed one over the other. Teela had one hand resting on the bar beside her while the other was draped sensually against her thigh. In all right, with the outfit she wore and the position she’d chose to sit in, Teela looked like some sort of high priced call girl. “Did someone call an escort?” she purred, the words spilling from lush lips like thick, sweet honey. She was sitting close to the door for a reason… it was the only exit.
Dr. Gene Splice was working within the lab when the power went out. Some of the machines having battery backups didnt go down and shortly after the genorater kicked in. The lab looked like something out of Dr. Frankenstien. he was reading the print out from a machine when he heard Teela speak. He didnt seem so startled or even curiouse to look behind him as he spoke back in a dark gruff voice. " Hookers have place on the streets. This is a facility for science. " His glasses were hanging low on his nose and he was older. He would turn and walk past her giving her not even a look as he drew blood from a vile and would inject it into another vile with a blue liquid and then put it into the machine he had been standing at and turned it on. " Why have you come here? Was the warning not enough to convince you this is not a place for you or that ........ damn feline friend of yours?"
Teela Necahual remained where she sat, her tail draped along the counter curling and uncurling itself. Blue eyes remained on the male, following his movements. "There can be science in sex. What other way would they gather the information they have." It wasn't so much a question as a cynical statement. Teela still didn't move, staying near the door. "I want to make a trade." She said flattly, head tilting only slightly and making her hair dance about her face. "Feline friend of mine? I'm not sure I have any idea about whom you speak." Teela had a pretty good guess but she was more than willing to wait and let him make it more clear. She wasn't too sure, however, that they would actually know who she was... or perhaps all of B.O.W. knew who she was by now; she doubted it given she'd never before gone looking for them.
Dr. Gene Splice sat at his machine and turned a few nobs watching the readouts and would speak once more." You do not wear our symbol. Which all members wear... Your disturbing my work which all members know does not happen. And your speaking frivolous trash. " He would turn his head finaly and look at her directly through his wire frame glasses." Now speak of your so called trade or move along. You are wasting valuble time. I have much to do and little time to complete it. " He returned his eyes to the screen and seemed rather smug in his actions.
Teela Necahual slid from the bar, her skirt seemingly sticking to her thighs sheerly from how tightly it fit her. "Never said I was a B.O.W. member." Teela responded, her gaze remaining upon him even as he turned to her. A single hand was lifted to the top of her corset and Teela reached just slightly down the top over one breast and withdrew a piece of paper. "My complete cooperation in exchange for a certain group of being to be left alone... out of your little experiments." Teela didn't expect it to be accepted, nor was it likely she would actually cooperate in the end but it was worth a shot. She stepped closer, remaining between him and the door, and snaked the tip of her tail to the machine he was on. The moment her tail touched it, the power seemed to fade from the machine. "Interested?" She asked softly.
Dr. Gene Splice seemed calm untill she touched his machine and made it act up. he stood quickly and looked to her as he spoke and when he did his eyes would glow blue and seem to trace with trails of electrical spark. His hand would touch the machine and balance out its power once more." You are number 17. One given my own DNA. I would emplore you to not disturb the equipment. " He would hold out his hand for the paper." This group I supose are from the same place as that bitch? The one who called herself our worst nightmare? Demoan Syndel I assume? No one else would even have a idea of our whereabouts. And only ONE would have ability to disrupt the electrical service to this building. Did you think for one second you could slip in here and not be figured out?" He seemed annoyed at the moment. But he was a scientist. " So if these people on your list are left alone. So you shall... cooperate... Hmmm... Let me see this list."
Teela Necahual hadn't expected the equipment to be stablize but if she was surprised, it didn't show. "And I would emplore that you pay attention." Her words were emotionless for the most part though they remained honey toned, thick and sweet. When he reached for the paper, Teela handed it to him... though she had taken the liberty to add the names of each of those from Nefarious Pleasures, taking the utmost care not to forget anyone. "Demoan is dead thanks to your marvelous staff. I did not learn of your whereabouts through her." Still she remained in place, her gaze staying upon the male. Teela had closed the door and locked it. If he were to bolt, she would reach him long before he had time to unlock and open it. "It would seem that I did slip in. The only one who's seen me thus far is the one in which I approached. You." His annoyance didn't bother her in the least and Teela seemed as calm as ever... deathly calm. "Yes. But I want to know what this is all about. I can't fully do what is expected of me if I don't know what actually is expected.""
Dr. Gene Splice took the list reading it. He would then take the list and shove it through a shredder and move looking around quickly then looked back to her." This isnt my staff... The father is the one in charge... It all started out as a company working for the military. Our job was to make the ultimate warrior. Even before our kind humans saught the same thing. The elusive warrior who could never die and was undefeatable. " He took a breath and looked around again." Myself and one other scientist noticed Father going insane years ago. He was going beyond the ideals our company was created for. He has been forcing the tests to be run on outsides not criminals and terrorists as directed because he intends to create his own army and overthrough the world leaders. " He would sigh and seemed off of what he acted like only moments ago." Some of us are working from the inside to find a formula to reverse the process of what has been done. But if the father or others found out we would be killed. You mussent tell a sole what I have told you... They have spies everywhere... We do control who they test on by giving out opinion of whome is good candidate.. I will do what I can for your friends. And am sorry about the one who died. But she was warned by her own to keep away... Dr. Marou is insane and ... hes dangerouse. Hes Fathers right hand man and the one who created the strain using my blood that was injected into you."
Teela Necahual barely stiffled a growl that had started to rise as the paper was shredded. It's not like she needed it but had it been possible she would believe him, she didn't now. Then again, considering the entire ordeal, who could blame. her. Still, Teela listened as he spoke, ears twitching only slightly. "The father?" She finally asked, letting a hint of her own curiosity peek through. "Ultimate warrior.." it was said more as though it didn't quite sink in. "Explain this... ultimate warrior idea." she murmured, then as though an after thought, a hand was lifted to point to the seat. "Do have a seat." It wasn't a suggestion or a request but more an order that, although spoken nicely, showed a hint of authority that one might not have expected from one with her appearances. "What you can... isn't good enough. Warned or not, I've lost something. I don't want to lose the rest... don't want them to end up in this. I WILL gain something as well if we're to make this trade."
Dr. Gene Splice stood firm in his place as she spoke her command to him as some dog. His own eyes twitched with anger. " YOu fool. You don not understand. Even though you posses some of my DNA. I have had hundreds of years to learn my craft. Do not think you come here the supreme being. So you listen." He took a short breath and huffed. His shredding the paper was to protect himself." I have photographic memory. Something you may gain or not. As for the Father no one knows his name. He is a Aracnid. That much I do know. " He would look to his machine a moment then back to her." A ultimate warrior. The goverment wanted a warrior that could survive any kind of attack through regeneration and cell devision. Another words lose a arm regrow it and quickly. Basicly Father and Marou have double crossed the goverment and are trying to find the formula for a warrior who can use multiple forms of attacking and high speed regeneration . So they can become the new goverment." He shrugged and grumbled to himself then looked to the machine." Myself and another are working on a formula that would strip all DNA cells of mutations . Everything we create is gene formated so basicly we installed a gene specifice trigger. If a creature was mutated by something we created we can reverse what was done to them. We didnt pick you. We just approved you because according to servailence you and one other there were stronge enough to handle the mutation. The other was not .......... Her temperment made her a dangerouse candidate. She would have bene dangerouse and wouldnt be able to take control of her power."
Teela Necahual didn't so much as flinch at his comment. "A year or a hundred years, it makes no difference to me." Teela took a step towards him and the gentlness seemed to fade from her, draining even from her appearance like some sort of magical disguise that had slipped away to reveal the colder emotions beneath. Teela didn't care why he'd done it; she didn't seem to care about a lot of things at this moment, for example the fact that she was inside a building with god knew how many of the BOW members. "Where can I find this... father." After a moments thought, she added, "And Marou. I believe I have a bone to pick with him." Teela turned an ear towards the door as though checking to make sure there was no one near by. Once she was sure, she returned them to him. "Don't bother making it for me. I think I could learn to like this." Even as she watched him, eyes never once blinking, Teela's eyes changed from the startling blue to the flame blue glow of her vampire form and almost immediately, all the color in her eyes seemed to be flow away into her pupil as though it were a drain. All that remained was the fanthomless black with the illuminated jagged white ring around what should've been her pupil though it was impossible to tell where it was now. "I don't think you've seen dangerous yet.""
Dr. Gene Splice didnt seem frightened nor impressed. He stood his ground and his voice became darker yet as he spoke." Really? Well why dont you just show me and secure that everyone on your list is not only targeted but becomes the newest test subjects for something worse then you think you are. " His own pupils were haloed in the a glowing oray. " You seem to think you came holding all the cards madam. But saddly you gave me all of your aces. Now as for Father and Marou. No one knows where to find them More often they simpley find you. I have never seen Father but Marou does show here from time to time. " He got a sick grin upon his lips as fingers would flutter lightly and sparks jump across them ." So if your done trying to be the diligent warrior fiend. Perhaps you will get to point so I can carry on or this batch of formula to reverse the process will be a waste and we will never know if it worked or not."
Teela Necahual found herself laughing mid-way through his comments. The sound was hollow and as cold as the thoughts that had crept into her mind. when next she spoke, her own sick grin had creeped across her lips. "Because for the moment I need you alive. How else will I get the answers to the questions I seek." She was snickering slightly. Teela didn't trust so much as a word that slipped past his lips no matter how truthful he may or may not have been. "A closer look might tell you I also gave you the eights." Teela lifted a hand in a blur of motion but she wasn't reaching for him, rather, a finger was pointed towards the machine he'd been working with and a single bolt of energy leaped from her fingertips to the machine. All was done in less than a second, a tribute to both her vampire speed and her own newly aquired powers and the practice she'd been delving into them. Whether he was actually attempting to 'reverse' things or merely talking a good streak, Teela didn't know nor care; chance are neither would be good if completed."
Dr. Gene Splice shook his head when she ruined his work. He was thurougly discusted by her now and chances of her getting anything out of him were slim to none. " Fine have it your way. Play chess by tossing checkers. " He stepped away from her and began dumping all of the test tubes down the drain for the test that was just destroyed. " You arnt interested in protecting or helping anyone but your own self served vengence. Well you carry on with that and good luck. I myself have seven hours of work to redo. So I must bid you good eve. I have people to save. " With that he became silent as he started to prepare another salution and seemed studious in his work.
Teela Necahual already had several answers she'd wanted and although not all, it would serve her for the moment. "I have no reason to think your work is anything less than the next batch of mutations to spread around." That same cold voice, so different from the one she'd used at first. Vengence... the word echoed in her ears and for a split second her memories creeped up on her. It was quickly pushed from her mind. "People to save... just like you saved Demoan. Just like you saved however many others that have gone the same way as she." A slight snarl creeped up on Teela's lips before she spoke again but she hadn't moved from that spot. "Who is this... father... working for.... who is he in league with?" Teela let electricity crackle across her fingertips. "You can answer... or I'll see how much current these machines of your's can take."
Dr. Gene Splice turned slowly and looked her dead in the eyes. " Your friend had a choice and made it. If a thief were to go into a police station blazing guns the same would have happened. I do not control the B.O.W. I am just a pawn . Same as you or she were. Do as you wish. Blow the place up. By this time tomorrow they will have another lab set up and we will be moved. Your ignorance nothing more then futile distruction and more time wasted. " He stepped back from the machines as if offering with his hands for her to feel free. " As for how many I have saved? Perhaps you should as the small one who runs about throwing pastry at people. Had it not been for I they would have injected her only last week, " He shrugged and rolled up his sleeve showing a tattoo of a heart and the words Hell Bound Heaven Sent " Next time you see your friends body look at her arm. Maybe you will see something familure. To bad shes dead or she herself would be able to tell you what I was. " He turned away from her as he shrugged." She wasnt the only demon punished for going against the plan . " He became silent and stood stareing at the wall.
Teela Necahual returned his look, never flinching nor looking away. "We all have choices. What will your's be." Her tail flicked first one way, then the other before falling still behind her. "They'll move it anyway once they realize I've been here. What difference could it make?" Though her intention hadn't been to blow the place up, the thought had crossed her mind. Teela stepped closer to the machine, or one of them, and placed a hand on it. She didn't destroy it, however, but rather drained the power from it. Was it to damage the machine? Hardly, rather she was slowly building the energy within her body incase she needed it. His words struck home as Teela realized who he was talking about. Ears flattened though she quickly recovered herself. Teela started to say something else but his last words caught her attention. "So BOW is working for the Lord of Darkness?" the question was asked as insignificantly as if she were asking for a cup of tea.
Dr. Gene Splice turned staring her directly in the eyes." I supose you didnt get the memo? Oh tell me it isnt so. Your dear friend didnt tell you this was the Dark Lords planned exorcise? " He shook his head and shrugged." Who else would have the power to carry this out and lose so many soldiers and still be running strong? " He looked around the place then fumbled with some papers producing one that had a council seal on it." They sign the check and they ordered her death. Not even the B.o.w. had choice in that. "
Teela Necahual had slowly... ever so slowly decided to take a chance... or perhaps it was the consideration that she might need more answers later. "Don't go far. I might have more questions." She said softly, her mind struggling between the ideas of killing him and letting him live. He would be of no further use to her dead though. Her time was drawing short, however, dawn would arrive soon. After all, she had spent half the night with Dem already before making the trip here. "Who are they targeting next?" Teela asked, her mind turning over the information she'd been given.
Dr. Gene Splice looked to her and reached into his pocked and pulled out a piece of paper. He wrote a number on it and handed it towards her." You can contact me there. Its a safe number. No one ever answers leave a message. If some one answers hang up imediatly. it means its been compromised. " His eyes shift to his computer screen a moment as he taps a few keys." the next target is a bovine. There isnt a name yet. They are still seeking a qualified host. The target is suposed to be injected with invertibret mutations.. Its ... like giving him multiple arms of sorts. Tenticals if you will."
Teela Necahual took the paper and placed it where she'd first taken the one she'd had from. "Chances are I won't be using a phone." She had never cared for the things, they seemed far too impersonal and Teela had come to find them a little less than secure when it involved something important. When the answer about the next came, she merely nodded. "I'll be around again at some point... there are still other things I want to know but not tonight." Teela started to turn but paused and looked back to him. "And give the... Dark Lords... a message for me. Tell them Teela Necahual sends her reguards... and that their time is running short... enjoy it. I won't play Russian Roulette forever... and the Lord of Darkness and I have been playing it for long enough." Without another word, Teela had vanished through the door, not giving him enough time to respond. She left as quickly as she came, sticking to the shadows. When she reached the window and began to scale the wall, Teela took a second too long in glancing around just as she reached it, and a call from the opposite direction she'd come caught her ears... only a moment before bullets caught her mid-back. They missed her spine, however, and Teela darted out the window, half leaping, half falling to the ground on the outside. With a snarl, she climbed to her feet and made a dash for the side of the building. The trail of fuel she'd made had been mostly destroyed in the workings of getting the genorator working but those blocking the back door still remained. Teela sent a single jolt of electricity into the barrels at the back door, more as a diversion and distraction than anything and headed off into the night leaving only a few drops of blood that might well have gone unnoticed.
Dr. Gene Splice shook his head hearing the gun fire. The sound of barrels exploding shook the building and he sighed looking to the cieling." First you send me to hell for my crimes as a mortal. Then hell sends me here cause well Im just not bad enough and here I am trying to do the right thing for once and you just have to complicate it dont you? And you wonder why church numbers are decreasing." He picked up his brief case and began filling it with his papers. He knew they would move once more.
It was two years to the date of Carson’s death when Teela awoke one sunset, her body drenched in a cold, blood tinged sweat. Teela couldn’t remember having been woken by nightmares, in fact, she couldn’t recall even HAVING nightmares since her transformation. She hadn’t been sure it was possible. Grumbling, Teela crawled from bed and wrapped a deep blue robe around her nude form. She wasn’t fully awake yet as she made her way to the door and slipped out, closing it tightly behind her. The halls were silent and not so much as a single candle served as light. Teela was heading to the den when a faint voice called to her from the dungeon. With a snort, she ignored it at first, and then it called again. Only one victim still remained locked in chains there. Some of the others were still around but they were in no shape to call for her… or anyone; it wasn’t often that the dead speak in such a manner. The calls struck a curious streak in Teela and she finally accepted them and made her way to the dungeon. Her eyes first fell on the body chained to the wall, the floor stained with the blood that ran from the fleshless body. The voice again and something caught her eyes. To Teela’s shock and bewilderment, Carson stood near the body, his warm brown eyes holding a sadness that Teela had never seen within them in life. Her vengeful, cold heart seemed to shatter then as he looked to her, then back to the body. “What happened to the Teela I knew?” He asked, voice soft and full of pain. “This… this isn’t her; the one who did this.” The silver feline was far too shocked to speak, overwhelmed with confusion and somewhere within her, excitement. “Carson, is it you? But how… why… I saw you di…” so many things to say and all came out in a flood of words. Carson came towards her and shook his head. “Hush, My Love.” He said softly. Teela started again, “But it’s for you… all of it…” as she said it, Teela stepped towards Carson but he stopped her before she had moved fully. “No Teela. This isn’t for me. I wouldn’t have wanted this. Please… enough killing. There’s been enough blood shed on these grounds.” Carson’s form became blurred, and then transparent. “But…” Teela said, eyes wide. “Please…” came his voice again as his form faded entirely. “No! Wait! Come back!” Teela screamed.
Her screams had awakened her from the dream, tears streaking her face and pain in her heart but that had been her next turning point. Though only a dream, it had been true, Carson hadn’t been the sort for cruelty.
